OB Ultrasound

An ultrasound test is a diagnostic technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the organs and structures of the body. The test can be used to obtain views of a developing fetus, the heart, abdominal organs and blood vessels. Innovative probe technologies support thorough evaluations of even the most challenging patients.

Services Offered:
  • Fetal Ultrasound Sonogram
Uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of a baby in the uterus. It can help your health care provider evaluate your baby’s growth and development and determine how your pregnancy is progressing. It might also give you the chance to study your baby’s profile months before delivery, including possible problems or diagnosis confirmation.

Ultrasonography in obstetric practice has evolved since it was introduced more than 40 years ago. Information provided by real-time helps clinicians:
  • Detect pregnancy as early as 3 weeks after conception
  • Confirm or revise gestational age with reasonable accuracy
  • Diagnose multiple gestation in early pregnancy
  • Accurately diagnose fetal death at any gestational age
  • Assess fetal well-being
  • Evaluate amniotic fluid volume, and
  • Diagnose a broad variety of fetal malformations
Fetal ultrasound is often done during the first trimester to confirm and date the pregnancy and again during the second trimester — between 18 and 20 weeks — when anatomic details are visible. If your baby’s health needs to be monitored more closely, ultrasounds may be repeated throughout the pregnancy.
  • Ultrasound Pelvic Examination
It can help identify endometriosis, the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus as well as general endometrium thickness. This exam can help assess the number of measurable follicles and help monitor follicle development and monitoring. The gynecologic ultrasound enables the clinician to confirm findings of ovarian tumor, cancer, myoma, and infertility.
