Capitol Medical Center’s commitment to serve people and the community sealed another milestone as it breaks ground for the building of the new five-storey steel parking facility located along Panay Avenue corner Scout Magbanua Streets, Quezon City.

The groundbreaking signifies another start of a better future and development of the institution that has been serving the community for more than half a century. Mr. Rhais Gamboa, Chairman, CMC Executive Committee and President of Mount Grace Hospital, Inc. reminisces about the groundbreaking ceremony of the original CMC Building. The picture of shovels being held, then and now, demonstrates CMC’s beginning and continuing growth.

“It was planned in 2019, and we were supposed to build this in 2020, but unfortunately, the pandemic struck, and we had to wait because we didn’t know what would happen during the pandemic,” said Ms. Victoria Lorelie Tan, the current President of CMC.

The long wait is over. The seemingly delay just led CMC to enhance the plan. The original two-storey parking building will now be a five-storey facility with two hundred forty-nine car park slots, eighteen motorcycle slots and spacious commercial areas. Understanding the importance of accessibility and convenience during times of illness, will not only alleviate parking concerns but also improve the overall patient experience.

Dr. Benigno Santi II, Chairman, CMC’s Bids and Awards Committee mentioned that the infrastructure also commemorates the dream of Capitol Medical Center matriarch Dra. Thelma Navarrete-Clemente. CMC’s expanding obligations will continue, as Ms. Tan divulges future projects for the institution, including a 10-storey Cancer Center in the future.

Mr. Fu Yu Cheng, Director and General Manager Century Horizon Construction Corporation, the general contractor for the 5-storey steel parking facility, bids heartfelt gratitude for CMC’s trust. He expressed his pledge to give no less than their best in delivering their commitment to finish the project within the agreed time.
